Markers & Provenance

Every skill, experience, and achievement in your brief is a verifiable marker with full provenance—not just bullet points, but traceable evidence trails.

What are professional markers?

A marker is any assertion about your professional brief—from “I led a team of 5 engineers” to “I’m proficient in React.”

Structured vs. unstructured

Some markers are structured (skills, job titles, dates). Others are narrative (your story about leading that team).

Both types are valuable. Structured markers enable matching; narrative markers provide context.

Explicit vs. inferred

Some markers you state directly. Others are inferred by AI from your experiences (e.g., leadership skills from managing a project).

Inferred markers start with lower confidence but strengthen as you add evidence.

Confidence tiers & scoring

Not all markers are created equal. Idynic assigns confidence scores based on the strength and recency of supporting evidence.

High

Multiple sources, recent activity, explicit statements

Medium

Single source or AI-inferred, moderately recent

Low

Uncertain inference, dated evidence, or needs validation

Full audit trail

Every marker has a complete history—when it was created, from what source, how it evolved, and who validated it.

  • Source tracking

Links to originating documents, stories, or manual entries

  • Evolution history

See how markers strengthened as you added evidence

  • Validation events

Track when you confirmed or edited AI suggestions

Human-in-the-loop validation

AI extracts and infers, but you validate. Every marker requires human confirmation before it enters your brief graph.

Review queue

AI-extracted markers wait in a queue for your review—accept, edit, or reject

Manual additions

Add markers directly if AI misses something or you want to add context

Continuous updates

As you add stories, AI suggests strengthening or merging existing markers
